Republic Day Celebration : A Festival of Sports

Republic Day celebrated here at the premises of Shivaji Highschool with patriotic fervor and gusto.   This year Mr. Ashok Shahane, one of the trustees of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Company was the special invitee of the occasion.   Many sports demonstrations and competitions were the chief attractions of this day.         After unfurling our National tri-colour, Mr. Ashok Shahane observed the march pass of NCC cadets, Scouts and other school troops.   Little children, dressed-up in traditional costumes of various Indian States, reminded everyone Unity in Diversity.         Extra flexible skills of Mallkhambers were praiseworthy as they demonstrated various yoga postures on rope.   Then hurdle jumping of horses done by Sainiki Cadets catched eyeball of every viewer present over there.   Finally Mr. Ashok Shahane kicked off inter-school football matches.     ...

Be Independent Through Self-Employment

Twenty trainees took benefit of a month long training course on Agriculture Machinery Repair and Maintenance Service Provider arranged on regular bases here at KVK under Skill Development Project in association with Agriculture Skill Council of India. SSM Chairman Shri Pramodji Deshmukh formally inaugurated the training course. Shri Rahul Deshpande of Blue Start India Ltd. grace the occasion with his presence. Its first batch has stepped out on 30 th Jan after successful completion of course. Trainees were given basic knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems used on tractors and farm machinery.  It will help them to diagnose faults, maintain and repair machines hence avoiding some unnecessary repair skills.  It has covered everything from older basic machines of Hindustan tractors right up to currently used advanced DI Technology.  It is mainly designed for those who have interest and wish to make their career in such field.

One Gold and Three Silvers in YCMA Athletics Meet 2019:

        Sagroli Athletes crossed another milestone at this initial timing of the year by grabbing One Gold, Three Silvers and Three Bronze Medals in Young Men Christian Association State Level Annual Athletics Meet 2019 organized at University Sports Pavilion, Marine Lines, Mumbai between 10 th to 13 th January.         Laxman Kutbaje, U/16 boys category got Gold Medal in 800 meters running in 02:08 minutes.   Arti Dudhe and Tukaram Suryawanshi bagged Silver Medals in 1500 meters women and 800 meters boys category respectively.   Athelet Vishnu Lavale, Sulbha Chaikane and Anil Tarphewar won bronze medals.   The athletic competition, spread across 4 days, witnessed diverse athletic performance from athletes from all over Maharashtra.         The Young Mens Christian Association is one of the oldest and largest non-profit community service organization in India.   As a...

Better Timings This Time:

      Two Senior athletes of Sagroli Sunrise Project of SSM improved their performance by reaching their targets in good timings.  Sagroli Sunriser Arti Dudhe stood at 5 th in women category and 3 rd in her age group finishing TATA Mumbai half Marathon in 1:32:44 hrs. Our second athlete Dnyashwar Kondalade secured 17 th in Men and 7 th in his age group finishing half marathon in 1:18:33 hrs.  Their age group is between 18 to 24 years.  They hope for 1 st place in both the categories in the next TATA Mumbai Marathon.         The Mumbai Marathon sponsored by TATA consultancy services, is an international Marathon held in Mumbai every year on third Sunday of January. It is the largest Marathon in Asia as well as the largest mass participation sporting event on the continent.   SSM Chairman Shri Pramodji Deshmukh congratulated winners and assured them continuous support.

Proven To ‘Be Prepared’

As many as 2510 Scout students of primary and secondary schools along with their instructors attended the four days Scout and Guide Camp at Hadgaon in Nanded District.   Thirty nine students and two instructors Mr. Pradip Jadhav and Mr. Shrinivas Ambatwar of Shivaji Highschool went, to be an active participants, to attend the camp.         The Scout and Guide Camp began with unfurling the Scout Flag and soon the scouts started to set-up their gadgets.   Day dawned with an outing for exercise that followed Lord Baden Powell’s six exercises and then breakfast.   All the four days witnessed zeal and passionate participation in Competitions like Suryanamskara, Corner decoration, tent layout, wealth out of waste and fruit carving.   Our Scoutes stood at first in Suryanamaskara   and third in Yogasanas.   At night campfire various songs, dances and skits were performed by instructors and Scouts.   Awardees were hono...

Done A Bit For Who Lost A Lot:

        There are millions of vulnerable children on the earth and so as kind hearted people too.  Such have the time, energy, and money to make these kids feel loved, valued and cared.  Mr. Manoj Panchal, an alumni of Shivaji Highschool and his companions are such noble souls who keeps on contributing every year to give hope to needy children.         Making a difference in the routine life of six orphan children, especially girls, Manoj and his friends unitedly paid for their week long educational trip including traveling and other expenses.   Around sixty students and 6 teachers went on an educational trip visiting historical places, beaches, shrines and temples as well.   They observed and studied various cultures, tribes and languages of people settled in Western Ghat.
